This activity definitely highlighted how easy incorporating the 4 C’s can be, as well as how much more fun a simple task can be made with a bit of game play and competition. We weren’t the first to finish, but the fun I had doing the activity was a prize in itself. Every group was racing to finish, and collaborating with each other to solve the game. It was interesting to see how competition can make an educational assignment so much fun. We used our PLN (Twitter) to get clues and used our context clues to break through some more locks. Within the first few minutes we knocked out two of the locks. To use our time more efficiently and critically thinking, we each jumped onto a different part of the puzzle. Communicating with my team, we realized there were multiple pieces and multiple locks. This game is also intended to work on the 4 C’s, which happened almost instantly. Breakout EDU consists of a combination of physical and digital puzzle elements to be solved in a set amount of time. Learning about this game I was excited and eager to play. I like to consider myself pretty good at games, specifically brain games and strategy games.

I initially liked the idea of this game, as it was educational yet fun, and I got a chance to use skills I don’t normally use. I had never participated in an escape room before, I have always been too scared. Breakout EDU is best described as “the immersive learning games platform that brings the challenges of an escape room to a classroom.” (from ) For a task in Classroom Management of Technology, our class was broke up into groups and assigned play Breakout EDU.
